When it comes to plugins & software, there is a lot to choose from and I think one of the more challenging aspects of it is knowing whether it works with Garageband, which is probably one of the downsides of using it as a DAW.

With that in mind, in my view, the best free (and premium) plugins for Garageband are: Over the last few years, I’ve tried out and tested some of the more popular plugins and plugin bundles so I have a good knowledge of what I like, and that’s what this list will feature: the plugins and VSTs that I like and not necessarily the ones that a producer is supposed to like.

It’s easy to take things like this overboard, but on the other hand, there are definitely some useful tools one can download either for free or for a small amount of money. Plugins are one of the best things that a person can become enamoured with because it’s really just a modern extension of gear, which is something most of us also like. The effect plug-in is now loaded in an Audio FX slot and will process the output signal of the Audio or Software Instrument track.We all know about them. The effect plug-in is now loaded in GarageBand and its window is open for editing. Browse through the Audio Units menu to the NI effect plug-in you wish to load. Browse the AU Instruments menu to find the Native Instruments plug-in you wish to open. Within the Plug-ins menu, click the selector tab on the instrument plug-in slot. On the left side of the Smart Controls pane, click the Track button to access the Plug-ins menu. Pressing the B key on your computer's keyboard will also display the Smart Controls pane. By default, GarageBand will load a Classic Electric Piano from its internal sound library. Press the Smart Controls button to view the Smart Controls pane in the lower part of the GarageBand window. In the following dialog, select Software Instrument and click Create.
